Washing da dreads-St John
Sorry everyone, but Lemuel wanted his privacy. Much respect.
This video has been made private. I am keeping this post up because of the beautiful comments made.
This is a video by Brandi Mays Production. Lemuel Callwood is the dread. He plays steel pan on the island of St. John.

Hey.. I really loved watching this. What a cool video of St. John and Lem and the sacred washing of the dreads.. lots of love always. Z
Zarah, I fell in love with this video. Lem evokes such grounded serenity. I hope you got to read the article too. I miss you and hope you are well. I am still waiting for a scanned piece of art to add to this blog…I will add as much as you like with a link to you.
I am the artist who made this video. Thank you for your kind comments about the video. I feel very honored that you put this on your blog! But Lemuel does not want this on the internet anymore. I respect him and would really like for this to be taken down even though I am really proud of this video. But if you know of anything else of this nature that I could film I would love to make another video. I would love to film some drumming….
Much love and respect,
Brandi
PS love your blog!
Greetings, I just got your comment today. I would love it if Lemuel would let me keep it on this blog. He may remember me from having the rasta store in town and the children store-Tiny Jewels. I wonder if he would be ok with you putting it on vimeo which is a more artsy web video site. I’m not in St john anymore so I can’t ask him, but of course it would be up to you also. Let me know as it is a great respect video to the care of dreads.
HI, Lemuel is playing steel drum at our wedding May 15. I googled his name and found your blog (great!). Is there any way I would be able to watch this video to get a taste???
Thanks!
Unfortunately Lemuel wanted his privacy on this video. It would be great if he had something on youtube.
I know for sure that he is a great steel pan player.
