Buju Banton Guilty (?)
In his second trial, located in Tampa, Florida, Buju Banton has been found guilty of three out of four charges.
Buju won a Grammy last week for Best Reggae Album, “Before the Dawn”
Riding the high last week into the low this week, Buju receives a hard blow.
Buju was found guilty of conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute cocaine, possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime, aiding and abetting others in using a communication facility in the commission of a felony.
He was acquitted of attempted possession with the intent to distribute cocaine.
All this stems from a drug deal that took place in December of 2009. Phone calls were recorded and videos were taken by a
confidential informant, who was working with the Drug Enforcement Administration — and who made $50,000 in commission after the bust.
That reeks of suspicion.
Much of the case was based on the above informants information. Buju was not at the drug deal that went down, the two men that were, pleaded guilty.
But Buju was seen in one video tasting the supposed cocaine and talking it up like a big drug dealer. His defense was that he was just talking it up trying to impress the informant.
It’s not an Easy Road….choose your path wisely.

What a shame this talented artist has got him self in this situation… how is he ever gonna come out of it…
yep its not an easy road… but less drugs on the streets is better then it getting through… lessons to be learnt…
Drugs are not the answer to making money… but talent is… so when you got talent dont waist it on taking risks
that can end you up in jail and mess up society… God bless… Angel
So true Angel. I can not tell you all the moments Buju’s song and spirit has lifted me into a higher realm. I give thanks for that and send him nothing but positive vibes and hope his inspirations spins full circle, holding him in that light.
